Volunteers Make a Difference
Volunteers play a crucial role in our school, offering essential support and elevating the educational experience for both students and staff. By investing their time and expertise, these individuals foster a lively learning atmosphere, enriching a variety of programs and activities.
Below are several ways volunteers can make a meaningful impact.
Tutoring During the School Day
The school needs help with tutoring support for Math and English/Grammar support. Some volunteers come once a week. If you’d like to help or need further information, please contact our Principal, Mrs.Aguirre.
Impact After-School Program
We welcome volunteers to assist at our daily After-School Program (from 3:30 - 6pm), which provides a safe, nurturing, and academically enriching environment for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Volunteers can assist with tutoring and mentoring our students in a subject in which they have comfort and knowledge. Recognizing the crucial role of out-of-school time in reinforcing classroom learning, our program offers dedicated homework assistance, ensuring students grasp key concepts and develop strong study habits. Impact Summer Camp: Expanding Horizons and Creating Lasting Memories
Our Summer Camp provides a transformative experience for more than 70 students annually. Volunteers can serve at their convenience or on field trips. For eight hours each day, Monday through Friday, campers engage in enriching recreational activities and benefit from carefully planned day trips. These excursions offer invaluable opportunities for new experiences, often including a first-time departure from the city, broadening their perspectives and fostering a sense of wonder and exploration.
Community Day 2026
We service our community of Paterson every August in a free service day filled with lots of fun for the family and children and also free giveaways. These free giveaways consist of back packs with school supplies, sneakers and non-perishable food to take home. We need support with 50 volunteers for this event. We also need help with backpacks, school supplies and sneaker donations.
Team Service Projects
Dawn Treader accepts churches and groups desiring to help our school through service all yearlong, including during the summer. Projects vary on a need basis and may include painting, general cleaning, installing equipment and fixing things. Interested? Contact Pastor Charles Salinas
